The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has appointed Tom Castañeda as chair. Castañeda, the system director of marketing and public relations for South Texas Health System, brings experience in journalism, marketing and communications and has overseen outreach efforts for the system’s 12 facilities since 2020. The chamber will continue serving as a regional voice for businesses while promoting collaboration and engagement with policymakers. As chair, Castañeda will concentrate on strengthening partnerships, advancing long-term goals and supporting leadership continuity.
