U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the General Services Administration and the City of Donna executed a Donation Acceptance Agreement to expand the Donna Land Port of Entry for commercial traffic, authorizing the project to move into the construction phase. The agreement includes more than $62 million in infrastructure investment and calls for new northbound and southbound inspection facilities using nonintrusive inspection technology. The project proposal was originally accepted in April 2017 and was developed through joint planning by federal agencies and the city. The expansion is intended to increase commercial processing capacity at the port of entry.
