Business and economic development leaders from Texas and Japan convened for the Texas–Japan Six City Exchange Symposium, an event hosted by the Japan Chamber of Commerce to discuss organizational growth, community impact and future economic collaboration. The program highlighted McAllen’s workforce, infrastructure and strategic position near the U.S.–Mexico border. Representatives from companies including Alpine-Alcom, Mikuni, Nippon Express USA, TS Tech, Toyota Motor North America, the Japan External Trade Organization and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation attended. McAllen EDC participated alongside COSTEP, Rick Carrera and UTRGV’s Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, emphasizing ongoing regional efforts in technology, manufacturing and workforce development.
