Texas Representative Todd A. Hunter of Corpus Christi will serve as the featured speaker at the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce’s Public Affairs Luncheon on Jan. 27 at the Hilton Garden Inn Beach Resort. Hunter is set to discuss recent legislative changes affecting the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, including reforms approved during the most recent session. As author of House Bill 3689, Hunter helped shift TWIA’s post-storm financing to a state-backed system and streamline the claims process. He will also highlight House Bills 2517 and 2518, which address TWIA tax obligations and premium payment structures.
