Texas Regional Bank held a Veterans Day ceremony in McAllen to honor the service and sacrifice of local veterans. During the event, City Commissioner Pepe Cabeza de Vaca presented a proclamation recognizing Texas State Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa and retired Col. Frank Plummer for their military service. Students from McAllen Memorial High School’s mariachi group, McAllen ISD’s JROTC, and Sanchez Elementary performed patriotic tributes, including a birthday surprise for Col. Plummer, who turns 100 on Nov. 7.
