RioPlex unveiled its first 24 ambassadors at an event at South Texas College’s Mid Valley Campus in Weslaco. But the group’s chairman, Joaquin Spamer, tells RGG Business Journal that the goal is to recruit at least 150. “We will be holding similar events around the Rio Grande Valley in the coming weeks,” Spamer said. Spamer said the ambassadors would play a vital role in strengthening the region’s voice and global presence. “These leaders will help promote economic growth, binational collaboration, and competitiveness,” he said.
