Roma Secures $15M in State Funding for Water Plant Rehabilitation

Posted

The City of Roma has been awarded $15,005,492 in Drinking Water State Revolving Fund financing from the Texas Water Development Board to support rehabilitation of its aging water treatment plant. The funding package combines principal loan forgiveness, a zero-interest loan and low-interest financing, along with an estimated $3 million in savings through interest rate subsidies. The investment will restore the facility’s full 5.15 million gallons-per-day treatment capacity through upgrades to systems from raw water intake to finished water delivery.
