U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar will meet Roma Mayor Jaime Escobar and city officials for an update on the Roma-Miguel Aleman Suspension Bridge project. They will also tour the bridge. Cuellar says the visit will highlight ongoing efforts to restore and preserve the bridge, which he says is a vital piece of South Texas’ cultural and economic history. Cuellar helped secure $5 million in FY22 Community Project Funding for the restoration project, along with additional funding through the North American Development Bank (NADBank) in 2024.
