The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Judge Renee Rodriguez-Betancourt of the 449th State District Court in Hidalgo County as a 2026 Women of Distinction honoree for her work in justice and legal advocacy. First elected in 2017, she became the youngest Hispanic district judge in Texas and the first Hispanic woman elected to her court. Judge Rodriguez-Betancourt oversees juvenile cases and has focused on combining public safety with rehabilitation while advancing programs aimed at improving the juvenile justice system. The chamber also recognized her leadership as a mentor and community advocate for aspiring legal professionals.
