Puerto del Norte in Matamoros has begun operations after being inactive for 24 years. The deep-sea port is expected to shorten transit times and expand routes for manufacturers and exporters in northern Mexico. Officials say the project positions Matamoros as a strategic hub for industrial, logistics and energy development with connections to states including Nuevo León, Coahuila, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas.
