EL FINANCIERO - Analysts from local and foreign private sector economic analysis and consulting groups raised the economic growth forecast for the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) this year, something that had not happened since last February; however, they warned that risks persist that could impact its performance.
The Survey of Economic Expectations of Private Sector Specialists for last July, collected by the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) from July 19 to 27, showed that the growth estimate for the country rose to 1.20 percent, from 1.10 percent observed during two previous editions.
It's worth remembering that the forecast in January was 1.30 percent, up from 1.15 percent at the end of last year. In February, optimism prevailed among the analysts consulted, as they anticipated it could climb to 1.50 percent; however, in the following months, the forecast declined until July.
