Final preparations are underway for McAllen Remembers, a Día de los Muertos celebration honoring community leaders Mike Allen, Kirk Clark and Joe Vera. Giant skeletons and an ofrenda are being set up at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, where the event will take place on Oct. 28. The evening will celebrate the lives and legacies of the three icons who helped shape McAllen’s growth and community spirit.
