Port Laredo and the City of Laredo have received the 2025 Gold Award for Excellence in Economic Development from the International Economic Development Council. The winning campaign, “We Keep the World Moving” connected with over 1.4 million people, spotlighting Laredo as the No. 1 port in the western hemisphere and a global hub for international trade. Alma L. Saldana Cruz, who is now with COSTEP, served as creative director during the launch of the campaign. “With a record-setting $339 billion in trade, this recognition is a tribute to the strategic collaboration between departments and the bold vision that drives our city forward,” the Port of Laredo said.
