Daniel Covarrubias, Director of the Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development at the AR Sanchez, Jr. School of Business at Texas A&M, spoke at the Cali-Baja Business Summit 2025, joining the Smart Border Coalition panel alongside Mario Orso and Jorge Goytortúa. Covarrubias discussed operational insights from the Laredo–Nuevo Laredo corridor and introduced the Logistechs Living Lab as a resource for the North American trade sector. According to his social media, he thanked UC San Diego organizers for the invitation and noted that collaboration between border regions such as Texas and California can help advance innovation across the U.S.-Mexico border.
