Cory Carswell, the Brownsville Public Utilities Board’s director of power supply and market operations, has been elected to represent municipally owned utilities on the ERCOT Wholesale Market Subcommittee. The subcommittee reports to ERCOT’s Technical Advisory Committee and reviews issues tied to the state’s wholesale electricity market, including resource adequacy and transmission concerns. BPUB said Carswell’s background in grid operations and market analysis will support its role in statewide policy discussions. His participation contributes to its efforts to advance reliable and affordable energy for Brownsville.
