An in-depth analysis of economic development from a northeast Mexico perspective

PHARR, Texas - Normally, Rio Grande Valley Partnership “Commercialization & Investment Tour” programs are given over entirely to presentations promoting the host community.

Andres Franco

That was not the case this week as Pharr Economic Development Corporation expanded the focus both regionally and internationally. The regional perspective was given by Rick Carrera, economic development director for the Council for South Texas Economic Progress. And the international angle was provided by Andres Franco, executive director of Consejo Mexicano de Comercio Exterior (COMCE) Noreste.

COMCE is a private sector entity in Mexico that promotes international trade and foreign direct investment.

In his 25-minute powerpoint presentation, Franco provided in-depth analysis on economic development from a north east Mexico perspective.

COSTEP's Carrera, whose presentation followed Franco's, said of the COMCE leader's remarks: “A fantastic presentation. Very, very informative.”

Here, bellow, is a video recording of Franco’s presentation. The event was held at the Pharr One Center.
