Villarreal: VIDA secures $350,000 Texas Talent Connection Grant

Posted

We are honored to receive a $350,000 Texas Talent Connection Grant from the Gov. Greg Abbott’s Office.

This investment will empower 350 individuals across the Rio Grande Valley to earn degrees and credentials in high-demand healthcare occupations, in partnership with 13 regional hospitals.

A heartfelt thank you to all our partners who make this work possible, and a special thank you to the Texas Workforce Commissioner Representing Labor, Albert Treviño, III, for joining us for the check presentation this past Thursday morning. And to Rafael Vela, executive director of Workforce Solutions Cameron, for serving as our inspiring keynote speaker.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more skilled, and healthier Rio Grande Valley.

Editor's Note: Earlier this month, VIDA celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a gala at the McAllen Convention Center. The centerpiece of the event was a conversation Felida Villarreal had with Brownsville-born billionaire Fernando De Leon, founder and CEO of Leon Capital Group. Click here to watch the highlights.
