MCALLEN, Texas - Valerie G. Segovia, vice president of the Texas Economic Development Corporation, was keynote speaker at the recent "Foundations for Tomorrow: Infrastructure Demand for the Rio Grande Valley" network luncheon.
The event was hosted by The Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects (I-LinCP) RGV Chapter and held at the Embassy Suites in McAllen.
The Texas Economic Development Corporation is an independently funded and operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was set up to market and promote Texas as a premier business location. It works closely with the Economic Development and Tourism department in the Governor's Office.
In her remarks from the podium, Segovia explained why Texas consistently ranks highly as the best place to do business. She said the Texas economy is now so big it is close to equalling France in size.
Segovia also paid tribute to Rio Grande Valley leaders for helping propel the region as an economic powerhouse.
