Valley economic development leaders hear from visiting site selector

MCALLEN, Texas - Carl Quesinberry is senior director for industrial corporate services for Avison Young, a global commercial real estate advisory firm.

Although he is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the veteran site selector represents corporate clients across the United States, Canada and Mexico.  

Quesinberry made his first visit to the Rio Grande Valley as a guest of the Council for South Texas Economic Prosperity. In a presentation to economic development leaders from across the Valley, Quesinberry spoke about what site selectors are looking for at a COSTEP event held at the Cambria Hotel in McAllen. 

He said communities looking for investment should concentrate on their unique assets. His slideshow presentation showed the assets Laredo, Texas, has. 

Quesinberry took a number of questions from the audience. He was asked for an instant opinion of the Valley’s economic strengths. His answer: he is a data-driven guy and would like to take a deep dive look at the region.
