REYNOSA, Tamaulipas - RioPlex Chairman Joaquin Spamer says the nonprofit group will be hosting three big events in the Rio Grande Valley before the end of the year.
The group works to promote the Valley and Northern Tamaulipas around the world.
“We have three big trade missions coming along. We have one mission, on the 13th and 14 of this month. We will have 21 owners of businesses from Michoacán coming. They want to invest in South Texas. They want to invest in RioPlex. They're coming. We're going to showcase our region. We're going to show them everything we have in RioPlex,” Spamer said.
“Second, we will host the very well-known Mujeres Líderes Binacionales, the 2025 North America Summit. That's a very good initiative that my CIL crew started. They have their 4th annual summit on the 19th and 20th. They have people coming from all over Texas and from all over Mexico. They will have very important information.”
CIL, the import-export company Spamer started, stands for Commodities Integrated Logistics.
“And then we have another event for business owners, coming from Monterrey. We will have about 50 people coming on the first and the second of December,” Spamer said.
“So, those three events are going to wrap up this year. Next year, we have traveling. We will have trade missions from different countries coming over. They will be coming to see RioPlex first hand.”
Spamer gave the above information to the RGG Business Journal at the 2025 Index Reynosa FORO, held at Parque Cultural in Reynosa on Oct. 30.
Asked how RioPlex is doing, Spamer said: “It is working very well. We have a very strategic plan. We are business people, we know how to sell. And we are not talking about tomorrow. We need to sell this region today.”
