As I mark my one-year anniversary with the Elsa EDC, gratitude is the emotion that stands tall. Every step of my varied career path has been enriched by experiences that have shaped me and by remarkable individuals whose insights have been pivotal in guiding me to where I am today.
Starting as an E.I.T./Graduate Engineer, I delved into the complex tapestry of engineering and construction projects. These foundational experiences mirror the projects I steer today, imbuing them with lessons of precision, detail, and resolute project management.
Stepping into the classroom as a teacher allowed me to see the world through diverse lenses. It gave me insights into the dynamics of education, and today, this experience acts as a bridge, enabling synergies between our city and the school district, ensuring a brighter, opportunity-laden future for our youth.
Then came the entrepreneurial wave with Grindstone Coworking. This venture was more than just a business; it was a crucible of innovation and connections. Projects in entrepreneurial development, spirited spin-offs like Waffle Wednesday, and countless networking opportunities have since become instrumental in shaping initiatives like Coffee and Connect and our Pulse Program in Elsa.
Co-founding Triggers Media offered a window into the dynamic realm of marketing. Catering to diverse clients, I honed skills that are now instrumental as Elsa steps into an era of exponential growth.

The wisdom accumulated from the Mission EDC, coupled with the UTRGV Certified Public Manager Program, refined my comprehension of Economic Development and the multi-layered facets of city governance.
The strength of my network and the mentors who have always been a beacon, those who generously take my calls, offering advice, help, or just a listening ear, have been indispensable. Every colleague, every peer from whom I've gleaned knowledge, I owe a debt of gratitude.
But more than roles and responsibilities, it's the people and relationships that truly invigorate my journey in Elsa. The daily engagements, the collective mission, and the shared drive make my role feel less like ‘work’ and more a profound commitment. Learning is an everyday event, whether spearheading projects or absorbing the wisdom shared by dedicated colleagues like JJ, our City Manager, and Del, our City Secretary. Their shared wisdom ensures that every day at Elsa EDC feels less like ‘work’ and more a mission of passion.
This reflective year-end leaves me thankful for every experience and individual that’s graced my path. Elsa Economic Development Corporation is the canvas of my multifaceted journey, our united aspirations, and the vibrant community spirit. As the future unfolds, my dedication to leading Elsa to greater heights shines even stronger.
