BROWNSVILLE, Texas - The opening of a huge Amazon delivery station in Brownsville strengthens South Texas and Northern Tamaulipas as a logistics powerhouse, says RioPlex.
RioPlex continues to attract global attention, the group said, as it welcomed Brownsville’s newest company.
“Amazon has announced the development of a 62,000-square-foot delivery station in Brownsville, Texas, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in South Texas and reinforcing the region’s role in modern supply chains.”
Located near FM 511 and major transportation corridors, the new facility will enhance last-mile delivery capabilities and improve service across the Rio Grande Valley, RioPlex predicted.
“This investment goes beyond infrastructure—it represents increased job creation, stronger cross-border logistics integration, and continued validation of the RioPlex as a strategic hub for near-shoring,” the group said.
“With access to international bridges, ports, and a growing industrial base, Brownsville and the greater RioPlex region are positioning themselves as key players in North American trade and distribution.”
RioPlex added: “The message is clear: global companies aren’t just watching the border—they’re investing in it. Congratulations, City of Brownsville, Texas.”
The City of Brownsville also commented on Amazon’s arrival. The City stated:
“The wait is over, Brownsville. A new Amazon delivery station on FM 511 officially opened this week, bringing faster deliveries and new momentum to the city’s growing logistics and economic landscape.
“The 62,000-square-foot facility, located at the intersection of FM 511 and Paredes Line Road, will play a key role in Amazon’s delivery network, helping packages reach customers across the region quickly and efficiently.
“Delivery stations power what Amazon calls the “last mile” of its fulfillment process. Packages are first shipped from Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers to the delivery station, where they are sorted, loaded into delivery vehicles, and sent out for final delivery to customers’ homes.
“The Brownsville facility is part of Amazon’s continued investment across Texas. Since 2010, the company has created more than 86,500 full- and part-time jobs in the state and invested more than $84.3 billion in infrastructure and employee compensation.
“According to Amazon, those investments have contributed an additional $97.7 billion to the Texas economy and have helped create more than 65,000 indirect jobs across industries ranging from construction and logistics to professional services.
“With the facility now open, the new Brownsville delivery station marks another step forward in strengthening the region’s connection to one of the world’s largest e-commerce networks while bringing faster service to local customers.”
