Rio Grande Valley businessman Joaquin Spamer does not just talk the talk. He walks the walk.
Put another way he puts his money where his mouth is.
The president and founder of Commodities Integrated Logistics has pumped millions of dollars in the Valley community through his industrial park ventures. The latest one is Queenstown Park in south Pharr. Anyone wishing to see the panels being raised on the buildings should visit the site on Wednesday. Here is a flyer for the event:

Spamer says anyone who would like to see a crane raising the panels should come along.
“Please come. It will be fun. The building is going vertical and is really attractive. This shows the capability we have in the Valley. This is prosperity in the making,” Spamer said, proudly. “This is not talk, talk, talk. This is an industrialist actually doing something. This is real.”
Spamer said there is a lot more industrial activity in the works.
“We have a lot of things in the pipeline. We are working hard. I want to differentiate myself from all the guys out there that have a PowerPoint and a laptop. This is for real,” he told the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service.
A reporter put it to Spamer that some of those guys that merely talk, talk, talk, can be found most days on LinkedIn.
“Well with us it is not only bluff. It is not only talk. This is actual investment. This is actually investments in prosperity for our region,” Spamer said.
“Our company is actually doing it, not just talking about it. We are actually putting money on the ground, making an investment in the region.”
It is hard to argue with him. Spamer and CIL believe in the RGV so much, believe in the RioPlex region so much, they’re putting millions and millions of dollars into the ground.
