MISSION, Texas - Mission Economic Development Corporation has awarded nearly $220,000 in grant funding to 16 small businesses as part of its Ruby Red Ventures Build Mission Fund.
Now in its second year, the program assists existing small businesses in Mission with operation sustainability, facility improvements, expansions, working capital, and job retention and creation.
The 16 recipients were unveiled at a press conference at the Center for Education & Economic Development, which houses Mission EDC.
One of the recipients was Natalie Garza, owner of Con Ganas Mija. The Rio Grande Guardian secured an interview with Garza following the press conference:
Brianna Casares, manager of marketing and programs at Mission EDC, said the Ruby Red Ventures Build Mission Fund is part of a broader effort by Mission EDC to encourage entrepreneurship, support economic development, and strengthen the local business ecosystem.
