MCALLEN, Texas - Ralph Garcia, COO of McAllen Economic Development Corporation, gave a very brief report at a quarterly meeting of his group’s Stakeholders Committee.

Garcia said:

“Good morning everyone. I'll be brief. Right now we have about 18 active projects that we're working on and I'll share that this week we presented three of these to the city commission. We have two separate projects from those three but the three projects we presented represent roughly $80 million of investment and roughly 200 jobs.

“We're working with two independent brokers on two other projects. Those projects represent around $90 million and 175 jobs. We hope, by the end of this month, to make an announcement on a project that's a $75 million investment and roughly 250 direct jobs, with an additional 200 jobs, give or take, that will be contracted.

“We hope to be able to get that information out but it's been very busy, with a lot of activity. We are seeing good things happen.”
