MCALLEN, Texas - A network luncheon focused on water, drainage, roadways and power infrastructure in the Rio Grande Valley takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in McAllen.
Hosted by the Rio Grande Valley chapter of the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects (I-LinCP), the event is titled: “Foundations for Tomorrow: Infrastructure Demand for the Rio Grande Valley.”
The keynote speaker will be Valerie Segovia, vice president for investor relations for the Texas Economic Development Corporation. Anna Talbert, interim president and CEO of the RGV Partnership will also speak at the event.
Sergio Sanchez, program director of 710 KURV AM, will lead a panel of RGV infrastructure leadership including Mark Dombroski, chief operating officer of Brownsville Public Utilities Board; Pete Alvarez, Pharr district engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation; Raul Sesin, general manager of Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, and Jim Darling, chairman of Regional M Water Planning Group.
“Throughout the program, discussions will center on how collaboration and consensus building are key to strengthening the region’s infrastructure and meeting the demands and challenges of a growing population and robust commerce across the Valley,” said Sanchez said.
Dombroski said he is looking forward to the discussion.
“Regional infrastructure is not just about pipes and plants—it’s about building resilient partnerships, embracing proven technologies, and investing in sustainable solutions,” Dombroski said.
“When we unite our knowledge, experience, influence, and resources, we multiply our ability to overcome challenges and seize opportunities, securing our communities’ future against water scarcity and growing demand.”
Brian Godinez, president of I-LinCP's RGV chapter, said the event will focus on the challenges, opportunities, and capital projects for infrastructure expansion in the areas of water, drainage, roadways and power.
Godinez predicted that as I-LinCP continues to grow its statewide footprint with a new chapter in South Texas, the McAllen event will deepen the dialogue around the region's future economic vitality and success.
"As the Rio Grande Valley continues to grow, investing in infrastructure is key to sustainable prosperity. We're excited to bring people back together for another impactful program that fuels dialogue and inspires action."
