MCALLEN, Texas - Susie Flores, director of US business recruitment for McAllen Economic Development Corporation, has announced more details on the highly anticipated McAllen Nearshoring Industrial Park.
The 128-acre park is to be built on the corner of Idela Avenue and Ware Road in McAllen. A groundbreaking ceremony for the project, which is being developed by CIL Capital, will take place Monday, Nov. 13, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Flores gave an update about the park in a presentation at this month’s South Texas Manufacturers Association meeting. She said CIL will construct build-to-suit warehouses on the park. “It’s going to be attracting more companies to the area,” Flores said.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be co-hosted by CIL Capital and the City of McAllen.
A flyer produced by CIL Group says that in addition to the groundbreaking ceremony, the event will feature “a special message to all the industrial community in the RGV.”
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, a lunch will be provided by CIL at their Klub Nautique facility in Mission.

In her remarks to STMA members, Flores also spoke about a new 260,000 square foot manufacturing operation in Reynosa. She said she could not reveal the name of the company just yet but said 1,500 jobs would be created.
Flores also spoke about two commercial projects coming to McAllen with a combined investment of almost $14 million.
