MISSION, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Partnership held its first ever RGV Connect forum at the Center for Education and Economic Development in Mission.

The group plans to hold such events around the Valley in order to seek input for its agenda for next year’s legislative session.

The focus at the first event was trade and transportation. The four panelists were: Maricela Gonzales, bridge operations manager for the Donna International Bridge, Jesús R. Reyna, interim city manager for the City of Donna, Walker Smith, port director for the Port of Harlingen, and Pete Sepulveda, Jr., Cameron County Administrator and executive director of Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority. The moderator was Ron Garza, associate vice president for workforce and economic development at UT-Rio Grande Valley.
