COSTEP connects with auto manufacturing suppliers from San Luis Potosí, Part Two

MCALLEN, Texas - The Council for South Texas Economic Progress recently held an “Automotive Cluster Presentation and Panel Discussion” for representatives from the automotive manufacturing industry in San Luis Potosí.

The event was held at the Cambria Hotel in McAllen. The day before, COSTEP had held a similar event in Brownsville.

The four panelists at the McAllen event were Teclo Garcia, CEO of Mission Economic Development Corporation, Jaime Ortiz, III, economic development manager for the City of Laredo, Daniel Garza, business development manager for Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, and Daniel Rivera, executive director of Elsa Economic Development Corporation.

The panel discussion was moderated by Rick Carrera, economic development director for COSTEP. 

The four panelists discussed the big projects their respective entities are working on. They also explained how and why suppliers to the auto manufacturing industry in San Luis Potosi could and should invest in the Rio South Texas region. 

The panelists flipped between English and Spanish.
