BROWNSVILLE, Texas - The Council for South Texas Economic Progress (COSTEP) recently held a two-day forum for leaders with Index, the trade association for maquiladoras in Mexico.

The forum drew Index leaders from across Mexico.

The first day of the forum was held at the Casa de Palmas in McAllen. The second day of the forum was held at Crosshatch BTX in Brownsville.

At the Brownsville event, COSTEP had a panel discussion about economic development in Cameron County.

The three panelists were Gilberto Salinas, president of the Greater Brownsville Economic Development Corporation, Orlando Campos, executive director of Harlingen Economic Development Corporation, and Ramiro Aleman, director of Cameron County’s economic development department.
