LAREDO, Texas - Blas Castañeda, the legendary workforce development leader from Laredo, has wished the Rio Grande Guardian well with its new sister publication, RGG Business Journal.

Castañeda is chairman of the RGG Business Journal’s board of advisers.

“Congratulations on the successful launch of your new regional border webpage,” Castañeda said to the RGG Business Journal team.

“This important platform has the potential to become a vital bridge for our border communities, connecting people, ideas, and opportunities across the region.

“By providing timely, accurate, and relevant information, it can help foster understanding, spark collaboration, and highlight the shared challenges and successes that define our unique binational region.”

Castañeda continued:

“Your commitment to keeping the business sector, civic leaders, and everyday citizens informed is both commendable and essential.

We look forward to seeing how this initiative grows to serve as a trusted resource and a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and progress on the issues that matter most to our border community.

“The future is full of possibility, and this is a strong step forward in shaping it together.

“We wish you great success and to become a lighthouse for our industries, local governments, youth development and our great state of Texas.”

Guardian editor and publisher Steve Taylor said this of the launch:

“The Rio Grande Guardian is pleased to announce the launch of a sister publication, the RGG Business Journal.

“This is something we have wanted to do for many years. But we were really spurred into action last September when we were approached by Laredo business titan Cliffe Killam. Cliffe said the South Texas border region needed and deserved such a publication because the incredible economic of growth that is and was clearly occurring was not getting enough attention or analysis.

“It has taken a few months to get things together - longer than we would have liked - but we are excited to finally pull the trigger. We believe that by building on the high standards of the Guardian’s team, coupled with strong data reports and expert analysis, we feel we can do the region proud.

“If you have any suggestions or would like to participate in any way, please contact us. Please call Steve Van Ryzin at 956-358-5221.

“Thanks for all your support.”
