The Port of Brownsville welcomes today's announcement regarding the America First Refining project and landmark energy and economic development initiative bringing the first new full scale oil refinery to the United States Gulf Coast in nearly 50 years.
The refinery is being developed to process 100% American shale crude produce low-carbon-intensity fuels using proven technologies and create substantial employment and economic growth in the Rio Grande Valley.

According to the company, approximately 500 direct and thousands of indirect jobs will be created across construction, operations and logistics.
